•    Establishment of Prof Ali A.Mazrui endowed chair and Center for Global Studies at Makerere main campus to be inaugurated in February 2010. These are estimated at 5 and 10 million US Dollars respectively. Professor Mazrui has accepted and congratulated Makerere University for coming up with this great honor in his name saying he has always regarded Makerere as the cradle for his global fame.
•    Establishment of Professor Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile endowment Policy Think Tank Center slated for April 2010 at Makerere  main campus
•    Establishment of Professor James Mulwana Chairand Center of Excellence in Leadership, Business and Private Sector development at Makerere main campus to be inaugurated in June 2010
